Philanthropist donates medical items to

Alhaji Mohammed Abubakari, a businessman and philanthropist, has presented various medical supplies and equipment to the Nakpali Health Center in the Korili District in the Zabzugu constituency in the Northern Region on the 25 of march 2019.He said bemoaned the lack of medical devices needed to save lives in the health center, a phenomenon he said got him worried and influenced the decision to acquire the equipment for the Nakpali Health Center.He said the prime location of the facility was key to offering quality healthcare delivery services to a greater number of peoplein the Zabzugu Constituency.The donation was made at a ceremony, which was attended by chiefs, opinion leaders and some well-wishers within the area together with the medical staff of the health center. The medical director of the health center, who received the items praised the businessman for his benevolence, saying it had come at an opportune time to meet the growing health needs of the people and encouraged the staff to relate with community members in the course of their work to help promote quality healthcare.He pledged dedicated services by staff of the directorate and called on all stakeholders to support the course of healthcare delivery in the constituency. Alhaji Abubakari, said,he will support most health centers as well as schools in all the districts to ensure lives of the citizenry are improved.He also commended the health personnel in the constituency for their unflinching commitment to quality healthcare delivery in the area and urged them to sustain it.He said, his outfit had over the years assisted a number of health centers across the constituency with such medical supplies that included hospital beds, mattresses, gloves, wheelchairs, syringes, and blood pressure machines as part of efforts to support providing universal healthcare for Ghanaians. He also used the occasion to address the issue of universal and quality education for children, most especially, early childhood education and development.He said it was a known fact that easy access to education liberates generations of families from the shackles of poverty and that education was a basic right, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.“Every girl and boy should have the right to quality education so that they can have more opportunities in life, including employment opportunities, better health and also to participate in the political process,” Alhaji Abubakari said.He said it was just not enough to get children in school and that parents and stakeholders in the education sector needed to ensure that children learn to read, count, and acquire the necessary life skills.He also indicated that special focus has to be given to the most vulnerable and marginalized groups including children living in broken homes, children with disabilities, and girls who are most likely to be affected because of inadequate learning materials and unsuitable education infrastructure.He reassured the people of the communities of his commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery in the communities hence his investments and concentration are geared towards that to help eradicate poverty, and create wealth within the communities.As part of measure to improve education within the communities, Alhaji Abubakari, have instituted a scholarship scheme to cater for brilliant students within the communities to enable them access funding to further their education, furthermore, vocational training centers will soon be established within the communities for the sole purpose of training women and youth interested in vocational and technical skills to improve their livelihood.Regarding the health care delivery, the businessman, have paid to register most of the women in the constituency under the national health insurance scheme and have also help renewed the expired once for the existing handles. With this innovative ideas, Alhaji Abubakari believes that greater numbers of the marginalized in the communities will have access to quality healthcare.The chiefs and opinion leaders expressed their excitement to the gesture of the businessman and philanthropist for his support and commitment for the sustainable development as well as promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all in the constituency.
