Tony Aubynn, Exco member and board chairman of Medeama Sporting Club on West FM has assured a committee has been set up to take charge of the Divisional and Premier Clubs to aid the way forward on the autonomous league.
Regarding players not being paid after the halt of the Premier League, Tony was forthright not to speak on radio concerning such issues after uncovering the truth of the Ghanaian economy and player welfare as an issue on its own. This is an issue that makes most players seek professional call ups after comparing the income earned.
Tony has urged the Ghanaian football fraternity to put in place strategies initiated in other countries to boost our leagues. He has guaranteed being in talks with the Sports ministry to include the Sports sector in their packages.
He expressed concern about the health of the players being more important even though it’s the livelihood of most of them, adding till the ban on contact sports is lifted there is no way the league should continue. Club owners and stakeholders in this crucial times are restless since they depend on active football to pay their players. Tony has addressed fighting for help on the side of these bankrollers.
Most leagues have started on autonomous system of modern football, a challenge to change our football system.
