Coach Sarpong urges to go to Zambia with ‘winning mentality’

Veteran coach JE Sarpong has urged Kotoko to go into the ZESCO game with a “winning mentality” despite the “difficult situation” in which they find themselves.
The former Kotoko coach believes much will depend on the mentality of the players and their approach towards their last hurdle in the Zambian city of Ndola.

“The mentality of the players is key in the Zesco United not selection of players,” he told Happy Fm

“Their motivational and determination level is key.CK should be focus and have a winning mentality and shouldn’t Waste chances like what they did in Kumasi.

“It’s a difficult situation for Kotoko missing Sogne Yacouba because he’s a fantastic player. He and Gyemfi are the heartbeat of Kotoko now.”

Kotoko sit at the 3rd position with 7 points, 2 points adrift the group leaders Nkana FC, who are also playing as guests of 2nd positioned Al Hilal Omdurman

Asante Kotoko are in dire need of a win in their last group C match of the Caf Confederation Cup against Zesco United, which will guarantee them a spot in the quarter-finals

The team left Ghana for Ethiopia Wednesday enroute to Zambia for their upcoming game on Sunday March 17, 2019.
