The Black Queens of Ghana have suffered defeat in their opener against the Chile women’s side in the Turkish Women’s Cup which took place at the Starlight Sports Complex in Turkey on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

The first part of the game ended goalless with an introductory goal by Karen Araya in the 57th minute of the second half. The Chilean side doubled their lead with a second goal in the 59th minute by Camila Sàez.

The third goal came through the 67th minute of the fixture by Daniela Pardo to seal the score for their side. Three goals was enough to secure the Chilean side three points and a top spot in Group B.

Loosing three goals to nil was quite an unexpected defeat for the Queens with an initial goal of winning their first game in the Cup.

The Black Queens will face North Ireland in their next fixture at same venue on March 7, 2020.
