Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah has waded into discussions about profligacy of Asante Kotoko striker Sogne Yacouba, urgng the Burkinabe to “keep his composure” in front of goal.
He also urged the fans to keep calm and support the striker to hit his form
Mr. Osei Mensah, who was at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday when Kotoko painstaikinly defeated Zambian giants ZESCO by 2-1 in their second round group C encounter.
“Sogne Yacouba should keep his composure, he shouldn’t be in a haste to score least he will squander a lot of chances, he told Oyerepa FM after the game.
“He contributed to the two goals but he should up his game but it should not bring pressure on him, so far he has not scored which is not the best. He should calm down, take it cool and play ,he will get back his goals, he added.
Despite his brilliant effort by creating Kotoko’s second goal, Yecouba came under harsh criticisms following the number chances he failed to utilize.
He has gone seven games without scoring but been productive with assists after recording five in the side’s ongoing CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
According to deputy coach Akakpo Patron, the technical team will continue to give all the necessary support and motivation to striker Songne Yacouba so he can rediscover his goal scoring touch.
