7TH AFRICAN ZONE 2 SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP COMES TO AN END

The 7th African zone 2 swimming championship has come to an end today , March 8, 2020.

This is the first time Ghana has hosted such a grand event , which is a qualifier to the Olympics in Tokyo this year. Ghana had the youngest team in the Championship.

Chase news spoke to Maayaa Ayawere , a representative of the Ghanaian team and she said, she is grateful for the opportunity in participating for the qualifiers. The atmosphere was good for the teams and since Ghana has a high quality pool for such events now , it’s going to boost the sport and help in organization of more official championships.

Maayaa stated team work as an advantage to her side ,even though Senegal won most of the medals. She said she hopes they get better and dominate over the years to come.

Nubia Agyei , another representative also expressed her joy with the times spent with other competitors and the medals she has attained in the championship.

She mentioned swimming as a basic sport she learnt at an early age for survival and she has grown to love it.
