Public relations officer of the National Sports Authority, Charles Amofah has updated the public on government’s concerns about sporting federations in Ghana. Speaking to Twifoman FM, he affirmed renovations being made at Essipong Sports Stadium in Takoradi and Baba Yara Sports Stadium also in Kumasi .
He declared a maximum of twelve months has been given to the contractors to finish their job and hand over the stadia to the government. Proper attention is being given to roofing, offices, conference rooms and hostels to be made commercially available.
Charles Amofah ascertained the governments concern about all sporting activities in Ghana and not just Football, disclosing the governments plans to pay the boxing authority soon. He stated all forty- four federations are being supported by the government.
Covid-19 has changed plans of the Olympics which was supposed to take place in Tokyo. He revealed a special committee has been set up to follow the Covid-19 updates , as the National Sports Authority is looking forward to the start of the Ghana Premier League again with hopes of the President addressing contact sports can also begin.
