In all African countries, Ghana is the lowest with player salaries – Richard Kissi Boateng

Past TP Mazembe defender currently playing for Ghana Premier league side, Brekum Chelsea, Richard Kissi Boateng has explained the implications of playing to be successful in Ghana on Ash FM. In all African countries he has been to, he listed Ghana as the lowest with player salaries.

Kissi Boateng has stated his readiness to play for the next eight to nine years. He revealed having a business background and that could have been his next career choice or farming due to his love for food.

Covid-19 causing a strain on the economy,Kissi has concluded on how bad our system of football is thus playing to be successful will be dependent on the club and the negotiation between both parties. He clearly stated the excitement winning bonuses comes with as compared to salaries.

He further emphasized on how difficult it is to pay players huge sum of money in Ghana. Some years ago, Asante Kotoko was able to sign Charles Taylor for a billion cedis but currently he believes even if a player could be signed at half the mentioned amount he could start a life for himself.

Kissi Boateng has declared every professional club in for business will adhere to the Ghana Football Association instructions and go through with player medicals , asking why Ghana can’t if other African countries are doing it.

He urged the football fraternity to use what they have in the local scene to do the necessary. He disclosed staying home for this long without personal training affects players energy, one could put on weight and cause financial loss.
