Head of Communications of Ghana Football Association, Henry Twum Asante has stated reasons the Association is not looking at canceling the leagues.
Huge amount of monies have been spent on the leagues before its suspension. The Football Association and corporate bodies invested almost Ghana Cedis 150,000.
Delving more into the current situation, Henry disclosed Startimes to have covered over twenty-eight matches with an average of $4000 on production daily. This amount multiplied by twenty- eight match days coverage , will amount to about $200,000 with an addition of NASCO as a partner, which spent a lot on player of the matches and coaches of the month awards.
He was clear decisions can’t be taken without the opinions and consideration of such corporate bodies as , the Football Association will not like to break the rapport between them. The government is still being engaged and if there is any stage where it seems virtually impossible to continue, clubs will be confronted on the cancellation of the league with reasons.
Henry confirmed the executive council meeting two months ago to decide on changing situations at hand thus , the purchase of referee communications gadgets to revive their love for the game after the fear instilled by the Anas expose last season.
He encouraged sports journalists to work together in improving the sports industry whiles awaiting the Exco’s decisions from now till June 30,2020.
